John Doerr, Co-Founder & Strategic Advisor

Co-Founder and Strategic Advisor of RAIN Group, John Doerr works closely with a broad range of RAIN Group clients, drawing upon a global career in business leadership including senior executive management, sales and marketing, and product and service development.

Co-author of the Wall Street Journal bestseller Rainmaking Conversations: How to Influence, Persuade, and Sell in Any Situation (Wiley, 2011) and Insight Selling: Surprising Research on What Sales Winners Do Differently (Wiley, 2014), John was also named the Top Sales Thought Leader globally in 2011 by Top Sales Awards.

Through in-house workshops and public presentations around the world, John has trained thousands of sellers, sales managers, leaders, and professionals to help them master the complex sale. He has worked with organizations such as Johnson & Johnson, London Business School, Egon Zehnder, Lee Hecht Harrison, Bright Horizons, and dozens of others to improve individual and organizational sales performance.

John’s first entrepreneurial venture, Wellesley Hills Group, was listed in Inc.’s list of fastest growing companies in the country. As a leader and rainmaker, John himself has sold millions of dollars of complex products and services to the world’s most prestigious organizations.

John’s international experience includes his work as Managing Director of Management Centre Europe, the largest pan-European management development and training services firm in Europe. In addition, he has consulted and spoken at numerous events in Europe including a multi-year run as chair of Management Centre Turkiye’s Human Resources Conference in Istanbul.

John holds an MBA, magna cum laude, from the Graduate School of Management at Boston University, and an AB, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Boston College. John is an avid runner and basketball player.
